Final Fantasy XIV’s Heavensturn Events to Commence 31st December

With Christmas now almost done and dusted for the year, the development team at Square Enix are moving forward in planning their next special event based on real-world festivities – in this case – New Year’s. The annual Heavensturn event is due to commence in Final Fantasy XIV from 31 December 2020 at 7.00am (PST) until 18 January 2021 at 6.59am (PST). The event combines western New Year’s celebrations with the well-known zodiac, adapting it into a form of Eorzean lore.

A new year fast approaches, and once more the Twelve convene to decide who amongst them will oversee the coming year. Such divine matters mean little in the Far East, however, and a delegate from those distant lands has come to Eorzea in the hopes of sharing their celebratory customs. Alas, their plans to mark the new year appear to have gone awry, and the Ushi Bugyo seeks assistance to steer their celebration back onto its proper course.

By completing the Heavensturn questline titled “Steering Clear of Trouble”, which commences in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X:11.5, y:13.9), you will be able to unlock a small assortment of goodies. These include the Crimson Ushi Kabuto and Black Ushi Kabuto head glamours, and the Handmade Akabeko tabletop item for player houses.

The items on offer will not be possible to acquire in Final Fantasy XIV once the event has concluded, but may be available at a later date via the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store cash shop or via another in-game event.
