RSI Perseus Gunship Enters Concept Sale in Star Citizen

Continuing the in-universe Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2950 celebrations in Star Citizen, developer Cloud Imperium Games have opened up pledge orders for another new ship. Unlike the recently released Consolidated Outland Nomad which was released straight to a flyable version, this is a concept ship, meaning anyone putting money towards it may need to wait months if not years to finally fly it in-game.

The ship this time around comes from the in-universe ship manufacturer Roberts Space Industries (RSI), named from the director of Star Citizen, Chris Roberts. The RSI Perseus is a 100m long Gunship, which is described as being “capable of shredding sub-capital-class goliaths” and that “the mere presence of a Perseus in a blockade or patrol squad is enough to make your most aggressive enemies think twice before engaging”.

A little pricier than other ships similar in size such as the Anvil Carrack, the RSI Perseus can be pledged towards now for $660.00 USD as a warbond ship (meaning you are unable to use money you have already pledged towards Star Citizen) or $742.50 USD at a standard price. You can also pick it up as part of an Ambush Pack for $770.00 USD (WB) / $858.00 USD (Std) which includes two Anvil Arrow crafts.

In development by Cloud Imperium Games and their studios across North America and Europe, Star Citizen is being helmed by Wing Commander (1990s) creator Chris Roberts. The game has currently been in a long-term alpha phase with no confirmed release date. Despite this, the studio has raised more than $265 million USD through on-going crowdfunding. Please keep in mind should you decide to purchase towards Star Citizen, that this is an incomplete project and that you are pledging towards an extended crowdfunding campaign with no 100% guarantee of a finished product.
