Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.31 Goes Live – Get Ready to Craft Till You Drop!

Several weeks have passed since Square Enix released Patch 5.3: Reflections in Crystal onto their North American, European and Japanese Final Fantasy XIV servers. As with all major numbered patches for many a year now, some content is rolled out through subpatch releases weeks or months after launch, ensuring a fresh stream of content until the next major update. If you are an active crafter on your server, then today’s patch (Patch 5.31) offers you many an opportunity to grind away at your skills.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.31’s primary content expands upon the Ishgardian Restoration system players have been contributing to for more than a year now. Long rumoured to be the development of the game’s fifth player housing area, players will be able to do their part by crafting and submitting new supplies for rewards. This phase will also have an active ranking system which will run until 17 September 2020. The top ranked players of each world will receive achievements and other small exclusive boons for their efforts.

What about if you are not an active crafter? In addition to a range of other hotfixes, the 8-player Eden raids (Normal and Savage) have both received changes. These include:

  • Two treasure coffers will now always appear. Furthermore, the weekly restriction on rewards obtained from coffers has been removed.
  • The weekly entrance restriction on all areas of Eden’s Verse (Savage) has been removed.
  • Players may now proceed directly to any area of Eden’s Verse (Savage).

Because of this, if you are an active raider, expect to see a new surge of activity from both experienced and newcomers to the Savage raiding scene.
