Focusing on delivering picturesque 2D Action-Adventure side-scrolling games, Vanillaware has turned heads with many of their previous works including GrimGrimoire, Odin Sphere and Dragon’s Crown. Marking the developer’s first new IP since 2013, ATLUS West has today published 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim onto international store shelves. Exclusively for the PlayStation 4, copies can now be purchased digitally via the PlayStation Store or via local video game retailers where stock is available.
Away from the fantasy settings of past Vanillaware games, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim takes place in modern-day Japan, where players are taken on “an edge-of-the-seat mystery across time, space, and humanity spanning thirteen intertwining stories”.
While originally not expecting to have the English dub created in time due to COVID-19, you can now download English voice overs as a free Day 1 update via the PlayStation Store. Otherwise, the game does come with its original Japanese voice acting.
