Taiko No Tatsujin Takes Players on a Rhythmic RPG Adventure This Year

Dropping the multi-platform support found with the last Taiko no Tatsujin video games released internationally, Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that the two-games-in-one rhythmic RPG collection – Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack – will be available for purchase this coming holiday season exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

Still in development by the Tokyo-based studio Dokidoki Grooveworks, this collection will comprise of two classic games never before released outside of Japan: Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythmic Adventure 1 and Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythmic Adventure 2. Each title will feature a unique storyline, seeing players set out on two adventures through different periods of history, and into the future, and pitted against over 250 different monsters, bosses and drums.

These games may have RPG elements, but that doesn’t mean classic Taiko No Tatsujin gameplay isn’t included. Players will need to hone their rhythmic drum playing skills in order to beat enemies. Completing challenging rhythmic combos will deal more damage to enemy characters, leading to their defeat. However, old enemies can become future allies as players are able to invite vanquished foes to join their party to take-on even more powerful enemies and bosses. Alternatively, if you just want to drum again, a Rhythm Game Mode will be accessible, including over 100 songs plus six new tracks.

The Taiko no Tatsujin series is a very unique and beloved franchise in BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment’s portfolio. With the TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHMIC ADVENTURE PACK, we’re excited to have two games that were exclusive to Japan coming to our fans in the west. The TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHMIC ADVENTURE PACK will deliver lots of fun and a surprising RPG adventure through its challenging rhythmic gameplay that both longtime fans and new players will thoroughly enjoy.
