As some longtime fans of Nippon Ichi Software’s long-running Makai Senki Disgaea franchise eagerly anticipate even a smidgen of news about the yet-to-be-announced Disgaea 6, new audiences are being introduced to the games through ports to other platforms. Nippon Ichi Software America, the international publishing wing of the Japanese developer, has confirmed that PC audiences will soon get to play strategy RPG Disgaea 4 Complete+ when it heads to both Steam and Xbox Game Pass later in 2020.
Similar to other ‘Complete’ editions released for Disgaea 4, this release will feature both the base game and all downloadable content published for it in one bundle. This includes an additional feature-length chapter, many crossover characters from other NIS games and more content to ensure that grind to Level 9,999 is as enjoyable as possible.
Disgaea 4 puts you in the shoes of Valvatorez, a once tyrannical vampire whose defining quality is that he keeps his promises. Sadly, this proved to be his downfall when 400 years ago, he promised a woman that he wouldn’t drink blood until she came to fear him. Sating his powers with a dosage of sardines and working in Hades as a Prinny Instructor – he must once again work up the strength to go up against the all-powerful Corrupternment, which deems that all prinnies must be exterminated. Allying up with his wolfman assistant Fenrich, the Prinny-garb wearing Fuka Kazamatsuri and a colourful cast of other characters… will they succeed in their mission?
Promoted features of Disgaea 4 Complete+ on the PC include:
Map Editor: Users can arrange terrain, characters, and objects to create their own original, unique maps. The ability to upload their maps and play other users’ creations will be available early 2021.
Pirates: Users can combine ship parts and arrange characters to create an original pirate ship and crew, then upload their pirates to fight other players. Additionally, uploaded pirates can also show up in the Item World to either attack or support the player that encounters them!
Foreign and Defense Ministers: Users can appoint a “Foreign Minister” to appear in other players’ Dark Assemblies to sway the voting process, and summon another user’s “Defense Minister” to help them in battle.
Netherbattle Tournament: Users can upload their characters to four classes and challenge unique online stages by creating a battle party with other players’ characters.
Everybody’s Netherworld Records: Players can upload their data to contribute to 12 stat categories that compile everybody’s total progress.
Pirate Trial: Users can engage in trials with their Pirates and upload their results for ranking and receive rewards the following week depending on their ranking.
Ranking Battle: Users can engage in a themed battle (themes are rotated weekly) and upload their score to the ranking boards. Ranking Points (RP) will be awarded according to the user’s ranking, which they can exchange for items at the Ranking Shop.
