While it is unfortunate that some of us (me) will be unconscious in a hospital having their wisdom teeth extracted while this annual event is occurring, now less than a week out, Australian video game publishers have continued confirming what those attending PAX Australia 2019 in Melbourne will be able to experience at their respective booths. Below is a taste of what you can expect to see from Australian publishers throughout the convention.
You can read Part 1 HERE.
Nintendo
During my time on the EB Games Expo circuit a few years ago, Nintendo’s booths were always ones that you could easily spend a lot of time in. Granted quite a lot of that would be spent navigating the queues that quickly formed throughout the booth, but in my opinion, were generally worth it given the new games they typically had on display – and the community experience offerings around some of their older titles. Including having Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword/Shield playable for the first time in Australia, Nintendo have confirmed that at least the following games will be playable at the Nintendo stand:
- Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield
- Luigi’s Mansion 3
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
- Overwatch Legendary Edition
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition
- Hollow Knight: Silksong
- Resident Evil 5
- Disney Tsum Tsum Festival
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Super Mario Maker 2
- Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Nintendo Switch Online
Nintendo will also have a live stage at the Nintendo Stand, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy multiplayer battles with other attendees, demonstrations of upcoming titles and more. Mario and Luigi are also expected to visit the stand throughout the day for ad hoc picture opportunities.
In terms of the pins available from Nintendo, there will be a number of photo opportunities around the PAX Australia show floor and foyer across the days. Nintendo have shared that these “photo opportunities will form part of a quest for an exclusive The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening pin“. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield pins, Luigi’s Mansion 3 giveaways and more will also be available at the Nintendo stand.
Nintendo of Australia have a dedicated website for PAX Australia 2019, which can be accessed HERE.
