More than six months after releasing the long-awaited RPG Final Fantasy XV, Square Enix are set to roll out a closed test of their multiplayer expansion “Comrades” to users who meet a select criteria. From Thursday August 3rd at 5am (Pacific) until Wednesday 9th 12am (Pacific), a worldwide Closed Online Test will be available to everyone who:
- Holds either an Xbox Live Gold Membership OR PlayStation Plus Subscription, and
- Has a copy of Final Fantasy XV and a season pass for the platform they hold a Gold/Plus membership for
In this testing period, players will be able to create their own custom avatars and join up to three friends in multiplayer quests to bring the light back to the Kingdom of Lucis. Access will be through a downloadable COMRADES Closed Online Test client through the Xbox Games Store or PlayStation Store.
The full version of Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades will be available later in 2016, and will require a standalone DLC purchase of season pass to access. It will also require an Xbox Live Hold membership or PlayStation Plus subscription to access, due to the online requirements.
