[E3 2017] [Announcement] Ubisoft Expand ‘The Crew’ Into a Series, Confirm Ongoing Development for The Crew 2

During E3 2017, video game developer and publisher Ubisoft confirmed that work is ongoing for The Crew 2, a sequel in what has now become an open-world driving series. Set for release sometime in early 2018, you will be able to grab yourself a copy on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC platforms. Like some of Ubisoft’s other recently announced major multiplatform games, Nintendo Switch support has yet to be confirmed.

Developed by Ivory Tower, the development team seek to deliver a sequel which “lets players experience the thrill of the American Motorsports spirit inside a fully redesigned USA”. According to them “The Crew 2’s playground pushes physical boundaries to let driving and open-world fans test their skills, solo or with friends, in non-stop competition and exploration, featuring a variety of cars, bikes, boats and planes, and become the greatest motorsports champion“.

Many North American landmarks are expected to appear in this newest open world recreation of the country. Players will be able to traverse the Rocky Mountains, drive the streets of New York City, race down the Mississippi River and explore the Grand Canyon.

The Crew 2 will feature four motorsport families, each of which offer their own culture and disciplines: street racers, pro racers, off-road experts and freestylers. Each group has its own unique HQ. By competing in competitions and chance encounters, you will be able to hone your personal style, collect and customise “dream rides” and begin making your park on the motorsports scene.
