In a process that started with bonus extras in Final Fantasy XIII-2, Square Enix will be offering post-launch DLC for their long-awaited release of Final Fantasy XV on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With the RPG finally going Gold, weeks before its November 29 launch, Square Enix have spent some time outlining what content players can expect in the future.

Final Fantasy XV is going to offer a season pass, the main focus of which will be three additional chapters. Each of these three episodes will shift the attention from Noctis to one of his three best friends – which will detail a new adventure tailored to each character’s play style. Episode Gladiolus is the first new character adventure to arrive and will be followed by Episode Ignis and Episode Prompto. No set dates for these have been confirmed.

This pack will offer a new online co-operative mode for up to four players – which will allow teams to take control of each character as a group. This expansion will also be included in the season pass, or will otherwise be available separately.

Post-launch development will be headed by Haruyoshi Sawatari, alongside core members of the Final Fantasy XV development team. They will be overseen however by Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata.

Haruyoshi Sawatari had this to say…

Last year I travelled around the world and attended many game events. I felt an amazing passion and sense of expectation towards FINAL FANTASY XV from series fans everywhere. From seeing that I really wanted to make it so that the fans could enjoy the game for longer and evolve and expand it even further. I will take these feelings and give them form, to deliver an amazing experience.
