Following their English localised release of Tales of Xillia, Bandai Namco Entertainment have shifted a lot more attention towards their JRPG video game franchise “Tales of”. From my perspective, we don’t need to worry so much about if a particular instalment will receive an English localised edition, and compared to the initial Japanese launch, the wait is months rather than years away.

Tales of Berseria is the latest Tales game to launch in Japan, being released on August 18th 2016 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It has already been confirmed that the PS3 edition would be dropped in western markets, and that a Digital PC port would be offered instead – however up until now we didn’t know an exact release date. While it may differ between regions, the publisher have confirmed that Tales of Berseria will be available in the Americas from January 24 2017.

Bandai Namco also announced they will be offering a collector’s edition of Tales of Berseria for the PlayStation 4. These limited numbered collector’s editions will be limited to 10,000 units – each of which have a MSRP of $149.99 USD. For the extra cash, you will receive the following:

  • PlayStation 4 copy of Tales of Berseria
  • Themed SteelBook Case
  • Velvet and Laphicet Chibi Kyun Chara figures
  • 8-Bit retro keychain set
  • Special Selection Music CD
  • Hardcover prequel novel “A Witch’s Tale: A World Full of Daemons”
  • Set of Tales of Berseria trading cards
  • Tales of Berseria starter strategy guide artbook

In TALES OF BERSERIA players embark on a journey as they assume the role of Velvet, a young woman whose once gentle nature has been replaced and overcome with a festering anger and hatred after a traumatic experience three years prior to the events within TALES OF BERSERIA imbued her left hand with a special ability.
