When recently unveiling what they had planned to showcase at E3 2016 next weekend, Ubisoft confirmed that Watch_Dogs 2 would be part of their line-up. But who needs to wait for next week, when the developer/publisher can share details right now. It has today been confirmed that, pending any unforeseen delays which can occasionally pop up, this newest open-world action-adventure game will launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC platforms starting November 15 2016.
Continuing in the same universe as the first game, players can explore an environment set in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is the latest city of adopt ctOS 2.0. For this unfamiliar with the series, this is an advanced operating system networking the entire city infrastructure, and in the wrong hands (at in many respects, yours as well), can be used to invasively control and manipulate everyday citizens.
Watch_Dogs 2 will tell the tale of Marcus Holloway, a young hacker who has become a victim of ctOS 2.0’s predictive algorithms, resulting in him being accused of a crime he did not commit. With the skills to do so, he embarks on a quest to shut down the system for good. Through another chain of story events and chapters, players must hack into the city’s infrastructure, devices owned by citizens and any other connected device to accomplish this goal. It is just up to you as the player to decide whether Marcus opts to enter the fray sneakily through causing a chain reaction of events… or goes into danger zones guns blazing.
