Persona 5 Release Date to Encourage Series Fans to Book Out Valentine’s Day

-

P5_promocovers_PS4-ResizedDuring a special livestream a few months ago, ATLUS announced they would finally be releasing Persona 5 in Japan starting this September. But for those hoping for an English release, there was one question…. exactly when would we be able to play it.

Some good news and bad news has emerged this evening. This good news is that we know a western release date, but the bad news is that there will be several months of dodging spoilers online before we get to play it. Either way, get ready to book out your Valentine’s Day – as Persona 5 will “take your heart” in the Americas on February 17 2017. This release date covers both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 versions of this game, but does not however cover PAL regions. Lets hope that the PAL region publisher doesn’t delay its release even further.

While we have yet to see a new English-dubbed trailer or localised screenshots, ATLUS USA have shared news about the different versions of this long-awaited RPG that will be on offer. These are as follows:

Standard Edition

Available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, you will be able to pick up a Standard Edition of Persona 5 for $59.99/CA$79.99 and $49.99/CA$59.99 respectively. This will be the only edition for the game’s PlayStation 3 edition.

Launch Edition

While stocks last, you will be able to pick yourself up a SteelBook Launch Edition of Persona 5 on the PlayStation 4. Available to those who pre-order or managed to pick up a day-one run, this edition comes up with the same SteelBook case as the Premium Edition. As with the Standard Edition, this will set you back $59.99/CA$79.99.

“Take Your Heart” Premium Edition

  • 4″ Morgana plush: An exclusive 4″ plush of Morgana, the mascot of the Phantom Thieves.
  • 64-page hardcover art book: Features concept sketches, character art, and more by character designer Shigenori Soejima.
  • SteelBook: The game disc for the PS4 will come packaged in a SteelBook collectible case, emblazoned with Persona 5 designs.
  • School bag: Designed after the traditional school bags in Japan, the exclusive replica bag comes complete with the Shujin Academy crest.
  • Collectible outer box: Described by ATLUS USA as the “largest premium edition” in their history, everything above will come packaged in a collectible box.
