When it comes to level-based MMORPG’s, it is sometimes best to start simultaneously with friends rather than at a later date. This is because while your mates might be tackling end-game content, there may be months until you are able to catch up and play alongside them. The teams at Zenimax Online Studios and Bethesda Softworks are now making strides to change this in an upcoming update for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

This update is known as The Elder Scrolls Online: One Tamriel. Starting later this year, all content barriers will be removed, meaning players will be able to experience almost everything Tamriel has to offer regardless of your level. Newcomers will be able to quest alongside veterans, with the world adjusting to any level and skill discrepancies. There will also be no restrictions on alliances or questing.

This update will not affect all gameplay systems however. For example, One Tamriel will not have any impact on PvP areas. It will be very interesting to see how the experience provided by The Elder Scrolls Online shifts once this update goes live.

Taking a trip down memory lane, the development team have shared the above video, which looks back at the current history of The Elder Scrolls Online.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is available for purchase right now, and is available as a buy-to-play title supported by an optional “ESO Plus” subscription, along with the purchase of downloadable content.
