In mid-May, Square Enix and Io Interactive introduced the first “Elusive Target” into the world of HITMAN. Available as part of the live content being published for the game in-between episode releases, these are one-off enemies which players must track down and defeat using limited intel. The catch is… if you die during the mission or fail to defeat them – there are no second chances to complete the job.
After claiming success for their first Elusive Target mission, the next unsuspecting Elusive Target will be ready to (potentially) meet his fate on Friday May 27th. In this case the target is “The Congressman”, who is visiting sunny Sapienza in Italy.
Here are some rules for hunting Elusive Targets such as “The Congressman”:
- An Elusive Target is a once in a lifetime experience
- They are available for a limited time only in game
- Intel on the target will be limited
- They will not appear in instinct mode, or the mini map and their locations will not be revealed to you – you’ll have to go and find them
- Your target can only die once
- If you die during the mission, that’s it
- When the time runs out, they are gone for good
- If you fail, there are no second chances
Five completed Elusive Targets will unlock the Hitman: Absolution suit in game for players, ten will unlock the Hitman: Blood Money suit and additional completions will unlock more suit variations.
Square Enix have also shared an infographic for public involvement with “The Forger”. In total, just 53% of contracts were successful, with the first kill taking just six minutes. Will this value increase the second time round when players are more familiar with the requirements of the Elusive Target system? We shall soon find out…
