Final Fantasy IX Receives New Chance to Shine on Steam

While many of its predecessors and successors have had the opportunity to shine on multiple platforms, Final Fantasy IX has pretty much been remained locked on the PlayStation 1 until this year. Following its iOS and Android release back in February, Square Enix have confirmed that the 2000 RPG is now available to play on the PC. As with many other Final Fantasy PC releases, it is currently available for purchase on Steam at a regular purchase price of $20.99 USD. But until April 20th, you can slash 20% off that price ($16.79 USD)

While the core game remains unchanged, this new release of Final Fantasy IX comes with a number of small and significant enhancements. This includes higher-definition movies and character models, Steam trading card support, Cloud Save support, an auto save function and seven optional booster features. The optional boosters allow you to edit the gaming experience to best suit your tastes. These include a high-speed mode and no encounter mode, and when used in combination potentially allows players to automatically master equipped weapons and gear, alongside maximising character levels, magic stone counts and gil.
