Fallout 4: Automatron Launches Today on All Platforms

As with pretty much every other open world action-RPG developed by Bethesda Softworks in the last decade, Fallout 4 will be receiving post-launch support in the form of paid add-on content packs. Several months have passed since the post-apocalyptic world of Boston was opened for players to explore, and it is now time for new world building and experience opportunities to unlock themselves to players… at a cost. The company have today announced that Fallout 4: Automatron is now available for purchase worldwide on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming platforms for $9.99 USD (or local equivalent).

In Automatron, the mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Players are able to hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod their own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons such as the all-new lightning chain gun. It is even possible to customise their paint schemes and select a voice type for them (For characters level 15 or higher).

Automatron will be the first in a series of add-on content released for Fallout 4 over the coming months. In April they will be expanding the capabilities of settlements with Wasteland Workshop, followed by a new release in May which will allow players to travel beyond the Commonwealth to Maine in Far Harbor. Far Harbor will be the largest landmass Bethesda Game Studios has ever created for post-release content. This will be followed by a number of other paid and free updates over the coming months – including the long-awaited Creation Kit (w/ support for consoles).
