Providing gamer’s with another JRPG experience to dive into just before Christmas, XSEED Games have announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel will launch in North America starting December 22nd 2015. This release date covers both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita editions of this Nihon Falcom RPG. Unfortunately, the date only seems to cover North American markets, with the PAL region release (Handled by NIS America in Europe and Bandai Namco Entertainment Australia in Australia/New Zealand) still presumably set to launch in early 2016.
Alongside the standard edition, the limited “Lionheart Edition” will be available in stores. This set contains an artbook featuring over 100 pages of art from both this game and its upcoming 2016 sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, plus a 1.5″ emblem pin representing the Erebonian Empire and a Collectible box designed to house both titles.
In The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, players take on the role of specially-selected elite military students at a time of great turmoil, enjoying school life and bonding with fellow students to earn new abilities in battle, then utilizing those abilities via speedy, tactical turn-based combat with the newly-developed “ARCUS” system.
The game is also known as Eiyuu Densetsu: Sen no Kiseki in Japan.
