Nintendo Celebrate 1 Million Copies of Super Mario Maker Sold 1

Giving players official tools to develop their own Super Mario side-scrolling platformer levels has so far turned out to be quite fruitful for the company, with Nintendo (citing internal sales figures) announcing that more than one million units of Super Mario Maker have been sold worldwide so far. This makes it the 32nd game in the Super Mario franchise to sell at least one million units globally.

Good sales have been complemented by 2.2 million Mario courses created so far, which have been played nearly 75 million times as of the announcement being made.

Super Mario Maker is now available for purchase exclusively on the Wii U. The game received a strong ‘A’ grade in my recent review of it.
