Providing new gameplay opportunities in their latest toys-to-life title (at a cost), Disney Interactive have launched two all-new Toy Box Expansion Games for Disney Infinity 3.0. Priced at $24.95 AUD / $34.95 NZD each, these packs seek to give players additional hours of gameplay inside Toy Box 3.0.
Unlike the level packs based on franchises including ‘Inside Out’ and ‘Star Wars’, Toy Box Expansion Games are pieces that allow players to unlock pre-built games which allow players to mix and match characters from their favourite Star Wars, Marvel, Disney and Pixar titles (which they have purchased for use in-game).
On offer is Toy Box Takeover (and action-adventure game) and Toy Box Speedway (a kart-racing game). These modes can be unlocked by simply placing your purchased Toy Box Expansion Game Piece on the Disney Infinity base. More information on these modes can be found at the bottom of this post.
As you would already expect, accessing Toy Box Takeover or Toy Box Speedway requires that you possess a copy of Disney Infinity 3.0 and a Disney Infinity base.

About Toy Box Takeover
When Syndrome gets his hands on Merlin’s magic wand, it’s up to the player to stop him. Using their favorite characters in Disney Infinity, they must battle across multiple worlds, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel’s Upper Manhattan, The Old West, or The Incredibles Volcano Lair to defeat the bad guys before they ruin the Toy Box forever. Family and friends can play together via two-player local co-op or four-player online.
About Toy Box Speedway
Players can join their favorite Disney, Disney•Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters and vehicles in an action-packed kart-racer. With nine franchise-themed tracks to choose from – Sugar Rush, Frozen, Tatooine, a classic Star Wars location, San Fransokyo, Agrabah, Monsters Inc., Halloween Town, Gravity Falls or Marvel’s Knowhere – players can choose from three different game modes including Time Trial mode, Race mode and Combat mode. Players put their driving skills to the test as they attack opponents with gadgets and weapons and earn trophies across three challenge cups.
