More than a week out from the game’s September 28 multiplatform release, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have shared their “Endless Awesome” launch trailer for LEGO Dimensions. This one and a half minute trailer, which clearly seeks to highlight the different characters and vehicles sourced from 14 different crossover franchise. However, one thing it doesn’t have is too much in-game footage, therefore those looking for a closer look at the actual game may need to look elsewhere.
LEGO Dimensions is another toys-to-life game, although with a unique twist in that players are able to further customise vehicle toys into one of several types. LEGOfied characters, vehicles and worlds are present from a plethora of franchises including: DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, LEGO Ninjago, Back to the Future, The Wizard of Oz, Scooby-Doo!, LEGO Chima, Doctor Who, Jurassic World, Ghostbusters, The Simpsons, Portal and Midway Arcade. It is possible to mix and match characters from different franchises.
LEGO Dimensions will be available with a Starter Pack, which includes a copy of the game on your chosen platform, bricks to build the LEGO Gateway (Seemingly there is some assembly required), three LEGO Minifigures featuring protagonists Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle, plus the LEGO Batmobile and LEGO Toy Pad. The Toy Pad allows players to transport LEGO Dimensions minifigures and models into the game – comparable to the Portal of Power in Skylanders. For a look at the Starter Pack contents, check out the official unboxing video at the bottom of this post.
To be available on store shelves from September 28 2015, LEGO Dimensions will be available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.
