Earlier this week, it was unveiled that the RPG Maker game development software series would continue with a new instalment titled RPG Maker MV. This announcement was for the Japanese market, with no word on if or when an official English-localised version would be available.
It should come as no surprise that RPG Maker MV would be released internationally however, with Degica publishing not only the most recent instalment (RPG Maker VX Ace) but many of the older instalments (VX, XP, 2003, 2000). Although not sharing information on when it will be available for purchase, Degica have released a “Coming Soon” teaser page for RPG Maker MV on their official website – confirming that developers will sooner or later be able to dive in and easily develop RPG’s using its newly introduced features.
Some newly introduced features include multi-device support (Possibly where the “MV” comes from), side-view battle support out-of-the-box, touch/mouse control support and several developmental features including increased database limits.
Actually.. the MV stands for “Multi Version” as there are MULTIPLE things going for it.
It’s like Multiple Versions of RPG Maker from the past on up until now rolled into one.
Plus multiple export options.
