Although conveniently leaving out the wealth of Mario games which do not have a design theme featured in their upcoming game creation software (I for one have many fond memories of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins), Nintendo have decided to take a trip down memory lane with their new trailer for Super Mario Maker.
In just over three minutes, this new trailer highlights many of the memorable levels and gameplay features present in Super Mario Bros. (1985), Super Mario Bros 3 (1991), Super Mario World (1992) and New Super Mario Bros. U (2012). All four games will receive themes in the new game. The latter half of this video shows how you can use these themes to create some truly unique Mario games.
In addition to the above trailer, Nintendo have also shared a second one which focuses on the Nintendo World Championships. This video can be found at the bottom of this post.
Super Mario Maker is set for release exclusively on the Wii U starting September 12 2015.
