Similar to other free flight weekends offered by Cloud Imperium Games these past few months, the Star Citizen team have announced that all backers with access to Arena Commander will be able to fly all currently flyable ships without additional purchase for a period of one week. This has been designed as both a “thank you” to all those who have allowed them to amass a whopping $84.2 million in crowd funding (With the lowest funds pledged in a month during 2015 being a still significant $2,392,531) and to provide valuable testing data.
This is also good for those who have only pledged towards higher-tier ships that are currently unflyable, giving them a range of ships to fly at their leisure while the one they want is unavailable.
