President and Co-Founder of Young Horses, Phil Tibitoski, has recently taken to the official PlayStation Blog to confirm that Octodad: Dadliest Catch is set to launch on the PlayStation Vita beginning May 26th 2015. This edition will be available as cross-buy, meaning that if you have already purchased it on the PlayStation 4, you can just head into the PlayStation Store and pick yourself up the new Vita edition.
The game itself does not feature cross-save support, however comes with a whole new set of trophies to unlock. Given that playing with a handheld console will likely be quite different than when using a controller, a new set of trophies is justified.
Perhaps the most surprising new addition however comes with aid from Sickhead Games. The pair of developers have introduced a system where it is possible to play co-op locally via the one device. Two players (one on each side of the Vita unit) can now opt to ungracefully wobble Octodad through the entire game. I am not exactly sure how that works, but am very interested to find out.
Priced at $14.99 USD, the PS Vita edition of Octodad: Dadliest Catch will be available exclusively through the PlayStation Store. Check out my review of the original PC edition HERE.
