NIS America Share Interview Video with Yuji Naka and Zin Hasegawa on Rodea the Sky Soldier

-

Amongst the list of Nippon Ichi Software America’s upcoming titles, which are primarily based around series which have proven successful in the past (Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance – Makai Senki Disgaea, Danganronpa Another Episode: UDG – Danganronpa and Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy – Dungeon Crawling RPG’s from Experience), NIS America are also localizing a newer game for the English market titled Rodea the Sky Soldier. Set for release on store shelves starting September 22nd (North America) and 25th (PAL), this is a new adventure platformer headed to both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS platforms.

Nippon Ichi Software America have released a new interview video for the game, featuring almost eight minutes of the game’s creator (Yuji Naka) and director (Zin Hasegawa). During this time, the duo introduce Rodea the Sky Soldier and provide some insight into the game’s creation. The full video can be found at the top of this post.

Rodea the Sky Soldier – Synopsis

1,000 years ago, Emperor Geardo of the Naga Empire sent an army of machine soldiers to invade the sky kingdom of Garuda. Thanks to the efforts of Princess Cecilia and Rodea, a machine soldier who promised to protect Garuda, Emperor Geardo’s assault was thwarted.

In present day, a spirited inventor named Ion discovers an abandoned robot that has fallen into disrepair in the heart of a scorching desert. Upon completing her repairs, the robot stirs to life and reveals itself to be none other than Rodea. Stunned to find himself in the future, Rodea learns that the Naga Empire is no more and that Garuda has known peace for 1,000 years.

But this peace was not meant to last, for the forces of Naga have returned to wage war against Garuda. Remembering the promise he made 1,000 years ago, Rodea takes to the skies to defend Garuda from the Naga Empire once again.
