During their Nintendo Direct livestream earlier today, Nintendo shared a new trailer for Mario Party 10 which is set for release on March 21st 2015. This trailer showcases some of the different gameplay styles (Unfortunately opting to reprise Mario Party 9’s preference of keeping players together in an almost linear fashion for at least one mode) and mini-games that players will be faced with.
This trailer release coincides with Nintendo announcing the introduction of a brand new “amiibo Party mode”. This mode allows players to bring Amiibo characters from the Super Smash Bros. franchise into their game. These characters can be used as board pieces, with each character also unlocking a new game board themed after them. Supported characters include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Bowser, Rosalina, Donkey Kong and Wario. As with Mario Kart 8, you ultimately miss out if you decided to purchase Amiibo based on other franchises such as Pokemon or The Legend of Zelda.
Mario Party 10 is set for a Wii U exclusive release on March 21st 2015. While stocks last, a limited quantity of the game will be bundled with a Mario Amiibo. Check with your local store for more information on this.
