The upcoming Japanese release of Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker (Devil Survivor 2: Break Record in Japan) is set to feature three crossover characters from the DuRaRaRa!! media franchise. These humanoid characters will not serve as regular party members, but instead fill the slot that would usually be filled by a demon. Asides from this, it doesn’t seem like there will be any storyline benefit for their inclusion.
Players will be able to add Izaya Orihara, Shizuo Heiwajima and the “Headless Rider” Celty to their party, as part of a limited-time Spotpass promotion. Each character will be available for only a few days in Japan, with the dates currently set at:
Izaya Orihara: January 29th to February 4th
Shizuo Heiwajima: February 5th to February 11th
“Headless Rider” Celty: February 12th to February 18th
It has not been confirmed if these crossover characters will be available in the Western release being localized by ATLUS USA.
In their less exciting trailer for Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker, ATLUS have shared a look at the Streetpass functionality for the game. Unfortunately this system seems to do little more than give one of your demons an extra stat boost whenever you pass another player.
Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker is set for release in Japan on January 29th 2015 exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS. This serves as an enhanced port of the original DS edition “Devil Survivor 2”, featuring full voice-acting, a brand new chapter and more. ATLUS USA have confirmed a North American release for 2015.
