As mentioned in a previous post on The Otaku’s Study, Sony Computer Entertainment will be giving all PlayStation gamers a one-time-use 10% discount code for a cart on the PlayStation Store. This code will be valid for almost everything available and soon to be available on the store (Excluding PS Plus subscriptions, Music Unlimited and Rental Video content), however will be limited to this weekend period (From January 23rd 2015 at 9AM GMT to January 26th 2015 at 9AM GMT).
This promotion is in response to the PlayStation Network being taken down over the Christmas period, meaning gamers with new games were unable to access any online functionality or even update their games with post or pre launch DLC.
With millions of PlayStation users around the globe, Sony Computer Entertainment has decided to not hand out individual codes to members. Instead, they are giving out specific codes for each region that the PlayStation Store is supported. If you are in a region supported by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (Including Australia / New Zealand), you will want to grab your code HERE. Those in North America will supposedly be able to find their code on the PlayStation Store and the PlayStation Twitter Feed. The NA codes have yet to be handed out.
For PlayStation Plus members who were affected by this downtime, and therefore unable to access the services they have paid for, Sony Computer Entertainment have also begun rolling out an additional five-days of membership to your account.
