Japanese video game developer Neverland Co. last year announced that they would be closing their doors. While the North American release of Rune Factory 4 had already been published earlier on that year, this event left a potential PAL region release in limbo. And it did… for more than a year.

After a long wait, XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe have this evening confirmed that Rune Factory 4 will be released in Europe and Australia beginning December 11th 2014, exclusively via the Nintendo eShop. The game has been priced at £24.99/€29.99 and $49.95 AUD, respectively. Given Nintendo have maintained the region lock on their Nintendo 3DS console, this will be the first time that most in these regions will be able to try out what could possibly be the last Rune Factory game.

Taking place in the Kingdom of Norad, players must fill the shoes of a Prince or Princess and aid the people of a small, picturesque town named Selphia in achieving lasting peace and prosperity.Steven Tarry | Marketing Manager at Marvelous EuropeWe know how great Rune Factory 4 is, which is why we’re so happy it’s releasing in PAL territories. 2014’s been a great year for Nintendo gamers, and this really is the icing on the cake.
