After a few additional perks gained by Xbox One owners during Evolve‘s last public beta test, 2K and Turtle Rock Studios have announced that another Open Beta test will be run exclusively for Xbox One console owners between the 15th and 19th of January 2015. This will provider gamers with another chance to sample Turtle Rock Studios’ upcoming 4 vs 1 shooter, where four hunters face off against a deadly player-controlled monster.

During this open beta, players will be able to experience Evolve‘s core “Hunt” mode, while unlocking new Monsters and Hunters as they play. New Hunter and Monster characters unlocked in the Xbox One Open Beta will carry over to the final retail version of the game. Starting on January 17, Xbox One Open Beta players will gain exclusive access to Evacuation, Evolve’s dynamic campaign they claim will combine “the full array of maps and modes into a unique and highly replayable experience”.

The development team have also made two additional announcements regarding Evolve in recent days. These include:

Third Playable Monster: Wraith – A small, terrifying, stealthy assassin that is quick in her movements and has two exceptionally long blades to deal damage up close. Despite having the least amount of health and armor among Evolve’s Monsters, Wraith’s quick, warping movements allow her to dart around during battle to avoid taking damage.

Offline Experience – Every character, every map, and every mode in Evolve can be experienced entirely offline as a solo player competing against computer-controlled opponents. Therefore if you prefer to be a lone wolf or want to hone your skills, it will not be necessary to go online.

Evolve is set to be released on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms starting February 10th 2015.

2K and Turtle Rock Studios are creating much more than just a competitive multiplayer experience. Evolve’s addictive and replayable 4v1 gameplay formula creates intense gaming moments whether you enjoy playing alone offline, cooperatively with friends against AI, or competitively against others online.
