Who’s up for their first proper look at Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris? Unfortunately this is not the update to get yourself a glimpse of the game.
Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have instead announced a special Gold Edition of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, which features a 3″ Lara figurine, an artbook filled with concept artwork, a folding map of the Overworld and a Season Pass on either PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC platforms. Oddly enough, despite being a “Gold Edition” they don’t seem to actually give you a disc version of the game, instead providing a code for you to claim through the digital download store of your platform (PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace or Steam).
They have also confirmed that selected retailers will have access to different retailer exclusive pre-order packs, providing unique skins and character-based skills for use in multiplayer mode. The information listed below (Provided by Square Enix) is relevant to North America but may differ or not even exist depending on the region you live in:
- Assassinate Your Enemies with the Hitman Pack, available on Steam and from participating digital retailers. Pre-order to receive the exclusive Hitman themed skins including the iconic Silverballers and The Agent ring, which gives your character increased weapon damage and more powerful bombs.
- Pick up the Ultimate Augmentation with the Deus Ex Pack, only available on Amazon.com. Pre-order to receive the exclusive Deus Ex themed skins, including Adam Jensen’s signature combat rifle and the Augment ring, which reduces the cost of treasure chests by 10%.
- Become a Legend with the Lara Croft Legend Pack, only available at GameStop. Pre-order to receive the nostalgic Tomb Raider Legend skins including a golden pistol and The Legend ring, which gives your character health regeneration powers and a more powerful torch.
While Square Enix have already confirmed that the Gold Edition of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will come with a season pass, it will also be purchasable to anyone upon the games launch. This season pass will include all future downloadable content including the un-detailed Icy Death and Twisted Gears Packs. The upcoming DLC Packs will also offer 6 additional costumes additional tombs for Lara, Carter, Horus and Isis to conquer and a treasure trove of unique rings, amulets and weapons.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is set for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC gaming platforms from December 9th, 2014.
