It turns out that the gaming media outlets at E3 2014 this year had plenty of praise towards Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Ubisoft have today published the above accolades trailer, showcasing some of the (positive) comments made about the game from those in attendance at the event.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is set for release in 2014 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Warning About Pre-Release Accolade Videos
I have personally never seen much value in pre-emptively designating games as “good” / “bad” or releasing ‘accolade’ trailers for anything other than the final product. In a final release, it would be near impossible for the publisher to hide certain elements of a game, and if there is a major issue – it will be made perfectly clear come review time. While it is enjoyable to hear of hands-on experience from conventions, actual praise, scorn or commentary should be taken with a grain of salt. There are too many variables about the handling or presentation of games during conventions which might give a false impression of not only being better than the game actually is, but potentially being not as good as it is come release day.
That being said…. nothing wrong with occasionally getting further hyped up for a game.
