Electronic Arts Makes ‘The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection’ Free for All Sims Fans for One Week

-

Almost six years since they last released the last expansion pack for The Sims 2 (The Sims 2: Apartment Life – 27th August 2008), Electronic Arts have decided to end support for the series as they move into the fourth generation of the series. To reward fans for purchasing at least one game in ‘The Sims 2’ set of games, they offered anyone who had registered the game via Origin a complementary copy of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection which contained the core game and every expansion/stuff package.

But those who like myself who had physically purchased but not registered through origin the core game and all expansion packs were left out. To rectify this issue, Electronic Arts are offering any Origin user the ability to download the collection for one week exclusively through Origin. To do so, you will need to download the Origin client if you haven’t already and redeem the code I-LOVE-THE-SIMS.

In all honesty, they didn’t have to do this in my opinion. Instead, I wouldn’t have objected to them making the collection available for purchase through Origin for a reasonable price given they have dropped all support for the game. In fact, they should do the exact same thing for The Sims 1 and its expansion packs.
