While all currently alive party members from Persona 3 and Persona 4 will be making a playable appearance in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold), this doesn’t mean that a few other familiar Persona users… say an antagonist… won’t be joining them as player-controlled characters.
It has been confirmed that Tohru Adachi will serve as a playable fighter in the game with his very own story chapter, however unlike others he will serve as the series’ first DLC character. His content will be bundled with all first-print run copies of the game, and assumingly available via the PlayStation Store as well. ATLUS USA have not confirmed what means of distribution they are planning for the North American market.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is set for release in Japan from August 28th, 2014 in Japan. No international release date has been announced, but personally I am hoping it is far away enough from the Japanese release date to justify not region blocking it.
