Tecmo Koei Release Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland Internationally

Atelier Rorona, as the first title in Gust’s long running Atelier series to be released on the PlayStation 3, could hardly be considered the most notable instalment in the franchise. While it served as the foundations for subsequent and greatly improved releases, the sudden shift in gameplay style and strict time limits didn’t appeal to everyone when it was first released in 2009.

Nearly half a decade since it first launched, we now have its enhanced re-release Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. While featuring the same concept and some of the same limitations,it features several gameplay, visual and content improvements such as: an enhanced battle system in line with later releases, a new assignment system to provide more value to completing some of the more mundane, optional assignments and making Astrid a playable character for the very first time.

Atelier Rorona Plus is now available for purchase in North America, Europe and Australia. Rather than make this another classification rant post, read my earlier article: Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland Classified in Australia – ANOTHER PG to R18+ Game, for more about the Australian classification of this game and why I would call it questionable.

Atelier Rorona Plus has been handled by Mindscape in Australia.
