Following its release in other countries many months ago, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia have finally announced that the slimmer, PCH-2000 series of PlayStation Vita consoles are set to launch in Australia and New Zealand. The new PS Vita Wi-Fi model, featuring a more streamlined form and 1GB internal memory card will become available in Australia on the 4th June, 2014. The console will be retailing at a RRP of $269.95 AUD.
The PCH-2000 series is approximately 20% slimmer and 15% lighter than the original model which has graced our shelves for the past few years. The console also boasts a high-definition liquid crystal display (LCD) has been newly adopted for the 5″ front display, hopefully providing gamers with an even deeper and immersive gaming experience.
It most probably wouldn’t be enough to have me switch over from my launch model, but it is good that they have decided not just to skip the ANZ market for this console upgrade. Now who’s up for a potential PS Vita TV launch next?
