The team at Fruitbat Factory have been behind the English localization of several niche but highly enjoyable PC video games including War of the Human Tanks and 99 Spirits. Their previous titles however pale in comparison to just how ambitious the studio are going for their fourth video game release – the PlayStation 3 release of Eiyuu Senki: The World Conquest.
Originally developed by Tenco for the PC and later ported over to the PlayStation 3 by MAGES / 5pb, this will be the first time the visual novel / tactical RPG hybrid has been released in English markets. With the focus of developers, publishers and localizers quite likely to shift towards the PlayStation 4 sooner rather than later, it is great to see niche titles such as Eiyuu Senki being picked up.
In Eiyuu Senki: The World Conquest, players will find themselves in an alternate world filled with famous characters from history and legend. In true visual novel (and JRPG) style these individuals are not burly men but beautiful maidens. In order to prevent the alternate world succumbing to a threat of world domination, the player and other characters must fight together against many who stand in the way of their goals.
The game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and will simultaneously be released in North America and PAL markets. There is currently no release date.

After a successful launch of operations on the PC market, we were looking for an opportunity to expand to console gaming. With Eiyuu Senki we found the chance to do it with a bang. It is a funny mix of a strategy game, RPG and visual novel that will forever change how you remember historical figures.

As long-time fans of tactical RPGs we’re very excited to get to work on this title, which we’ve seen many fans wishing to be localized. We are aiming to release Eiyuu Senki simultaneously in North America and Europe, and will give more updates as they happen.

Synopsis
In a world wherepowerful nations run rampant and heroes battle one another for supremacy, the great nation of Britannia seeks to unite the world through peaceful means while the European Union has adopted an aggressive policy and the Seafaring Nation of Vinland thrives on pillage and plunder. Far in the east, the small nation of Zipang is stuck fast in a quagmire of civil unrest.
In the midst of all this, our memory-loss stricken main character has a fateful meeting with a Hero of Yamatai, Himiko. Together they settle Zipang’s internal disputes and set off into a world covered with the burning embers of war.
Damn, this is like a dream come true. Really nice game.
Would have loved the recent Gold release for it to PC instead but I guess this will do, better then no english release.
