Last year saw European video game publisher Ghostlight in collaboration with their Laughing Jackal studio port Compile Heart’s Agarest: Generations of War over to the PC. Sales and reception to this release seem to have been strong enough that the studios once again teamed up to port the second game in the series, the prequel Agarest: Generations of War Zero, to the PC.

They have today announced that the game is now available for pre-purchase via Steam for release in the next couple of days. Anyone taking advantage of this pre-purchase period will receive a 20% discount for the game, meaning it is only $15.99 down from the regular retail price of $19.99.

Some promoted new features in this release include:

  • Numerous graphical improvements – including the addition of animated character portraits
  • Vacation Days – improve the bonds with your party and unlock bonus items, costumes and locations
  • New Races – a variety of new races are now available for your party
  • Enhanced Towns – with more interactivity and additional areas to explore
  • Card Skill System – customise the main character’s battle style and skills
  • Extra Mode – a new hard difficulty unlocked by players who have cleared the first game, also allowing access to the world map, items and all characters from the original game
