One of the ways that a video game developer can help win me over into checking out their latest release is by incorporating an expansive character customization feature, something that if done right and allows me to incorporate a figment of my imagination into the game, leaves a very strong first impression. Unfortunately most games have delivered an average-at-best experience with this…. however this latest character customization trailer from PlayStation Japan / SCE Japan Studio highlights that Freedom Wars from SCE Japan Studio may just tick many of the boxes I am after.
Giving you extensive control over your custom player character, customizable options include gender, body / facial features, clothing, voices and much more. Certainly not bad for a PlayStation Vita exclusive title.
The PlayStation Asia – English blog have also shared a few specifics on a couple of the newly announced characters for the game – Beatrice “Lily” Anastasi, Abel “Strafe” Barth and Red Rage. Details on all three are available below:
Abel “Strafe” Barth
– The Most Sinister Sinner on Earth –

He is one of the most powerful sinners in the world of FREEDOM WARS. He is an ace fighter of the Horai PT which is a rival enemy force to the panopticon that the protagonist belongs to. The fate of both the protagonist and Beatrice are deeply intertwined with him as well.
Red Rage
Abel’s private abductor which is one of the three primordial abductors said to be the origin of the Artificial Abductors. Its existence has long been questioned and now it fights alongside with Abel on the world stage of history. It has an overwhelming attack force and defense mechanism. Although it may be an ancient creation, combined with the linkage function of the sinners it can become the ultimate weapon.
Beatrice “Lily” Anastasi
– The Key to Destiny and Revolution –

She is a mysterious girl locked up deep within panopticon. She also fights alongside with the protagonist seeking for hope while being manipulated by fate. Having a straight forward character she is skilled with technology as well.
