While I recently mentioned my scepticism of Film to Video Game ports in my review of South Park: The Stick of Truth, inevitably when there is a major film franchise there is often a game close behind it. The latest example is DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming animated feature How to Train Your Dragon 2, which Little Orbit have today confirmed a licensing agreement with. The How to Train Your Dragon 2 video game is set for release on the Xbox360, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii, Wii U and PlayStation 3 video game consoles.
Developed by Torus Games, Train Your Dragon 2 the video game lets players embark on a heroic adventure on their way to becoming a formidable dragon rider alongside the beloved characters from the film. Choosing from a variety of riders and dragons, players will enter a dragon flight school filled with tournament events, challenging mini-games and exciting training exercises, all throughout the Viking Isle of Berk.
Not really getting my hopes up on this one, but at the very least should hopefully appeal to the younger, target market of the franchise.

We’re fortunate to work with DreamWorks Animation on such a treasured franchise. The How to Train Your Dragon 2 video game will make a great companion piece to one of the most highly-anticipated films of the Summer.
