While I am sure some may have hoped that the 20th Anniversary “Tales of” title would be welcomed onto next generation video game consoles, Namco Bandai have today announced that Tales of Zestiria is headed to the Playstation 3 in the future.
The game was announced by Hideo Baba at a live stream event that has just concluded. Tales of Zestiria represents the word “Zest” – great vitality, enthusiasm etc although not much is known as to how this will translate to the actual game experience. The game itself is set in the world of Glynnwood, where the Highland Kingdom and Laurence Empire are both going up against each other for supremacy over the region.
The two main characters announced were male protagonist Slay (VA: Ryouhei Kimura) and female character Alisha (VA: Ai Kayano) who were designed by Kosuke Fujishima and Daiho Okumura respectively. Other characters will also feature designs by Mutsumi Inomata and Minoru Iwamoto and will be announced at a later date. Given this is the series’ 20th Anniversary title, they seem to be bringing back a number of their character designers for this one title. Liked the last few opening sequences? Ufotable will be returning to add their mark to the series once again.
This was the only title announced during the live stream.
