Hewson Consultants is a company that those who were playing video games in the 80’s may (or may not) remember. While they have expressed no interest yet in returning to the video game development / publishing scene, its founder Andrew Hewson is looking to publish a book by the title “Hints & Tips for Videogame Pioneers“.
It turns out that they have something to be excited about – with the book undergoing crowdfunding via the Kickstarter service, they have recently passed the 50% mark of funds pledged. This is on the back of further announcements made about the talent that is contributing to the book including Steve Turner (Graftgold), Andreas Axelsson & Fredrik Liljegren (Co-Founders of DICE) and Raffaele Cecco (Cybernoid, Exolon, Stormlord) to name a few.

We are delighted to have reached this important milestone and to have attracted so many top industry icons to contribute to the book. The most surprising thing has been the level of support from outside the UK, with backers coming from as far as Australia and Japan – clearly Hewson’s talented game creators had a much broader impact that we realised. Now the focus is on working hard to bring even more to the table as the campaign continues.
At this point in time with 16 days remaining on the clock, they have raised £7,028 of an initial £12,000 goal. Will they reach it in time? Check out the campaign page HERE.
