While confirming their plans for the Playstation 3 –> Playstation 4 upgrade program last month during Gamescom, video game publisher Activision have reconfirmed their plans for the Playstation family of platforms as well as for the Xbox line of consoles which is also set to head next-gen with the Xbox One this November. The information for each console as well as your in-game profile is available below:
Playstation 3 / 4
For a limited time, every new copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts will include a flyer with a unique SEN code on it. Redeeming this code packed into the Playstation 3 edition of the game on the Playstation Store will allow gamers to purchase a Playstation 4 edition for the price of $10.
Alternatively if you purchase digitally through the Playstation Store, you will also be given the opportunity to upgrade to the Playstation 4 version. Simply go to the PlayStation store and purchase the discounted PS4 version for a suggested retail price of $10.
Xbox 360 / One
This will be done through the new Xbox Game Ahead Program. Gamers can purchase a disc-less dual-license digital version of Call of Duty: Ghosts at participating retailers for a suggested retail price of $AUD 109.95. This version will include the Xbox 360 digital version of Call of Duty: Ghosts, as well as the Xbox One digital version of Call of Duty: Ghosts – linked and unlocked via a user’s Xbox Live gamertag. Look for more information on how to pre-order at participating retailers in the coming weeks.
Via the Game Ahead Program, players can also purchase a digital version of Call of Duty: Ghosts directly from the Xbox Live Marketplace for a suggested retail price of $AUD99.95. And, when ready to upgrade to Xbox One, you can purchase a digital Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts for a suggested retail price of just AUD & NZD $10 on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
In-Game Stats and Profile
Irrespective of what your original console is, your stats, unlocks and more will seamlessly transfer with you. Utilizing your free Call of Duty account, you can carry your profile with you from Xbox 360 to Xbox One and back again with the same going for the PS3 / PS4.
Season Pass Upgrades
Priced at a suggested retail price of $AUD64.95, the Call of Duty: Ghosts Season Pass will upgrade to next-gen (from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, and from PS3 to PS4) at no additional cost.
The Call of Duty: Ghosts Season Pass is now available for pre-order on the Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Store and at participating PC digital download retailers. The Season Pass includes access to four Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Map Packs, each delivering a collection of fresh Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer content and more. Gamers who purchase the Season Pass will also receive the Team Leader digital content pack that includes a unique multiplayer character head, weapon camo, reticle, player patch, player card and player background.
