With their release of Time and Eternity now well and truly out on the market, Nippon Ichi Software America can finally focus on their two NIS 20th Anniversary titles that they have planned for later this year – Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness and The Guided Fate Paradox.
Today we have been treated to our second preview trailer of Disgaea D2. While the games protagonists Laharl, Etna and Flonne have pretty much appeared in every Disgaea or Disgaea-related game since the games debut on the Playstation 2 in 2003, they are finally going to reprise their much sought roles as main characters in this chronological sequel to Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Barbara Goodson, Michelle Ruff and Sandy Fox will reprise their character voice roles once again with a collection of new characters to also appear throughout the course of the games storyline.
While the trailer has a heavy focus on characters both new and old, they also highlight some of the returning and new features included in this release including the usual SRPG mechanics, lift/throw system, the (sometimes) dreaded Geo Panels and mounted skills to name a few. Unfortunately the trailer does lack the pizazz that other games have received in the past, but it is still early days and I am expecting them to draw from the characters eccentricities to generate a trailer that bests the one they did for Disgaea 4.
