As someone who was introduced to video gaming through the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo Gameboy, I unfortunately missed out on the joy of playing the original release of the highly acclaimed Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars that launched on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in May 1996.
Fortunately that was not the only role-playing game title released by Nintendo and in collaboration with Intelligent Systems they produced Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64 that served as one of my first RPG experiences. Given that I am still to this day reviewing RPG’s this joins a small subset of games that really introduced me to the genre of gaming.
Nintendo have recently chosen to highlight the series in the below infographic, starting with the original Paper Mario game and working its way through history till December 2012 when Super Mario: Sticker Star was released on the Nintendo 3DS. Given that every Nintendo home video game console has been on the receiving end of a Paper Mario game since the N64 era…. will the trend continue with the Wii U? Time shall tell…..
