After its announcement all the way back in February, Square Enix announced their plans to develop and publish a brand new IP by the title Murdered: Soul Suspect. While we were given a brief teaser trailer upon announcement thing have been pretty quiet about the game till today, when the company finally unveiled their very first proper “Announcement Trailer” for the game which looks at some in-game storyline footage and snippets of the opening scene where protagonist Ronan O’Connor has his life brought to an end.
Murdered: Soul Suspect is an action adventure game, where your job is to find out just who murdered detective Ronan O’Connor through the eyes of Ronan. After his life is brought to an end by a brutal and relentless killer he finds himself unable to move on and stuck in the limbo world of Dusk. Unable to pass on without bringing justice to the one who did this to him – he acquires some new supernatural abilities and is free to explore the town of Salem, Massachusetts, from his shadowy afterlife. Unable to communicate with the detectives on his case, Ronan must read the minds of the living, influencing their thoughts and actions. As part of his investigation, he must interrogate the ghosts of Salem’s past citizens to piece together the puzzle, while battling demonic spirits to save his soul and uncover the shocking truth about who is responsible for his death.
Murdered: Soul Suspect is set to be released in Early 2014 for the Windows PC and the (then) last-gen video game consoles the Playstation 3 and XBox360. It is unknown if they intend on bringing this game over to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
