Granted that any wait for a new trailer wouldn’t exceed the wait for more information on Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Rumored to be re-named Final Fantasy XV), Square Enix have been pretty quiet on their upcoming release of Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, the third installment in the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy of games…. until now.
With E3 2013 set to be held next week, the company have preemptively released their new trailer for the game, showcasing some in-game footage with many more dialogue snippets. More notable is that we now have formalized release dates for the game, and while many would have been hoping for a 2013 release, it has been pushed back until the 11th February 2014 in North America and the 14th February 2014 in PAL regions.
As Lightning, it is your mission to save souls so they may be brought to a new world. However, with only thirteen days remaining, not everyone can be saved. Armed with all-new weapons, player customization and battle abilities, you are in a race against time to fully understand your destiny. It all ends here.
The theme song used in this trailer is titled “The Savior” by composer Naoshi Mizuta. Square Enix have promoted that the song is available for download via the iTunes Store. Of course, this is not available on the Australian iTunes Store.
