Despite strong sales of Rayman Origins when it was released as a multiplat title, Ubisoft originally announced that Rayman Legends – a sort of sequel to origins would be a Wii U exclusive title set for release within the Wii U’s launch window – later delayed till 2013. This has now all changed with Ubisoft confirming that they will also be publishing the game on the XBox360 and Playstation 3 gaming consoles. Unfortunately this also came with the announcement that the game had been delayed until early September 2013.
All three editions are being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the core developer of the Rayman series and the team initially behind the Wii U release of the game.

We heard from many Xbox & Playstation owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system. We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game.
Surprisingly this is not the first Wii U exclusive title to go multiplat this week, with Tecmo Koei earlier announcing their intentions to publish Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge on the PS3 and XBox360.
Rayman Legends retains the fantasy appeal of its predecessor while adding a multitude of clever and entertaining gaming modes, new characters, new environments and a new soundtrack. The award-winning team of artists, designers and composers from Origins has also returned with an advanced UbiArt engine to include multi-dimension gameplay elements, an improved lighting system and updated game rendering that elevate Rayman’s graphics to the next level.
