It is that time again…. after several years passing since the last beta tests for Final Fantasy XIV, with a brand new major update which will hopefully bring the game up to scratch (Oh, and Playstation 3 support to boot!), they have decided to open the doors one again for another beta. This time around you can apply for either or both the Playstation 3 and PC beta tests, and if you have an original release copy of Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) and still have your hands on the members code now is your opportunity to use it.
To sign up for these tests, visit the link for your associated region:
- NORTH AMERICA
- EUROPE/PAL
- JAPAN
The following has been posted on the main page for those who may already have met requirements to be considered for these tests:
-
Players who met the Legacy campaign requirements can participate in the beta test starting from phase 1 and are not required to apply. However, we ask players who wish to participate in the PlayStation 3 beta test to apply for it.
-
If you applied to be a PlayStation 3 beta tester for FFXIV Version 1.0 and were selected to test the Windows version instead, you need not apply again to test the PS3 version—your original application will be reconsidered when we start selecting PS3 testers. However, if you wish to be considered as a Windows PC tester, we ask that you apply specifically for that.
More specifics can be viewed on your regions beta application website.
Originally released for the PC in 2010, Final Fantasy XIV was released to rather negative and mostly below average reviews – far from what some might have been expecting from the game series. As the title suggests, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is just that…. a major update set to hopefully bring the game up to scratch and welcome in both past and future players with new content and new console support. Of course….. if this update pays off has yet to be determined.
